What is IB?

At Benjamin Franklin International Exploratory Academy, students take eight classes over two days through a block schedule. All students take four core classes: Mathematics, Language and Literature (English Language Arts), Science, and Individuals and Societies (Social Studies). All students also take a Physical Education class, a Language Acquisition class, a Design class, and an Arts class. Students in each grade level have several options available to meet the requirements for their Physical Education, Language Acquisition, Design and Arts classes. These options are listed on the chart below. The curriculum framework serves to prepare students seeking enrollment into the International Baccalaureate Programme at Hillcrest High School.
